M. I. Shuster, 65, appraiser for the state Land Use Committee and member of the state Corporation Commission during the Bailey administration, died unexpectedly at his home here late yesterday.
A former Madison county sheriff, he was warden of the state penitentiary during the administration of former Gov. Charles H. Brough. He served two terms in the state Senate and was deputy United States marshal for the Western Arkansas district.
A son, Freeman Shuster, survives.
