"Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 8, at 2 p.m. in Brashears Funeral Chapel for Lester Virgil Keck, 66, of Witter, who died at the Washington Regional Medical Center Saturday, February 5. The Rev. Cecil Garrison officiated.
Mr. Keck was born February 16, 1910 at Witter, the son of Nathan and Amanda Ogden Keck. He was a farmer, a member of Huntsville Lodge 364 F and AM, and served as Madison County Sheriff from 1942-1946.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clora Hooper Keck, of the home; one son, Wayne Keck, Huntsville; one daughter, Mrs. Calvin (Jean) Dennis, of Springdale; one sister, Mrs. Esta Shellhorse, of Fullerton, Calif., and seven grandchildren. Interment was in the Witter Cemetery. Masonic services were given by Huntsville Lodge 364. Pallbearers were Ray Bolinger, Clyde McCollough, Hack Adcock, Jeff Duty, Jessie Reynolds and Dotson Collins."
